President Prabowo Subianto removed Dadan Hindayana as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and replaced Nanik Suryati Dayang who had previously served as Deputy Head of BGN.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The government ensures that the change of leadership of the National Nutrition Board (BGN) will not interfere with the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG). Minister of State Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that newly appointed officials of President Prabowo Subianto were able to carry out their duties and responsibilities directly although the official inauguration schedule was still pending further announcements.
Prasetyo conveyed on Tuesday (2/6/2026) evening at the Presidential Palace Complex that the President has appointed Nanik S. Deyang as Head of BGN replacing Dadan Hindayana. In addition, Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono were appointed as Deputy Heads of BGN replacing Lodewijk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya.
According to Prasetyo, the changeover is the result of the evaluation that the President made of BGN's performance over the past year and a half. The evaluation was carried out to ensure the implementation of the government's priority programs can run more effectively and provide greater benefits to the community.
“With the appointment of new officials, they are already able to carry out their functions and responsibilities as they should,” Prasetyo told a news conference at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta.
The government hopes that the new leadership will be able to accelerate the implementation of the program, improve the performance of the organization, while strengthening the governance of BGN. The move is considered important given that BGN holds a central role in running the MBG program which is one of the priority programs of President Prabowo's administration.
Prasetyo confirmed that the evaluation process and change of leadership will not affect the daily operations of the institution. All BGN work units continue to perform tasks according to their respective functions, including the implementation of the ongoing MBG program based on the established standards.
He added that the leadership reshuffle is expected to be the momentum of strengthening the implementation of the Free Nutritious Eating Program. In addition to improving the quality of people's nutrition, the program is also seen as a long-term investment in the development of Indonesia's human resources as well as driving economic activity in various regions.
