Pertamina Patra Niaga's North Sumatra regional office distributed LPG aid to Sibolga City and Nias Island, which were isolated by the disaster. The aid departed from the Teluk Kabung Integrated Terminal (IT) on Monday evening (December 1).

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Lower Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) said the supply and distribution of fuel oil (BBM) in the province of West Sumatra is gradually recovering after the floods and landslides. BPH Migas Committee member Bambang Hermanto said the addition of 17 fuel tank cars was deployed to speed up the recovery process, especially in disaster-affected areas.

During a field visit in Padang, West Sumatra, on Tuesday (2/12/2025), Bambang revealed fuel supply and post-planned distribution in sufficient condition.

Despite obstacles due to landslides and road breaks on the Padang Panjang—Sicincin line, which is the main fuel distribution line, distribution can still be done via alternative routes with longer travel times.

“Although the road we used to distribute the fuel is completely broken, we can still use other alternative routes, although it will have to be traveled with an additional time of approximately five hours,” Baher, Bambang's greeting, said in a statement, Wednesday (3/12/2025).

BPH Migas ensures that all public refueling stations (gas stations) in the affected areas are in safe and smooth condition so that people can meet their needs.

Baher said to accelerate the recovery of fuel distribution in the disaster-affected areas, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has added 17 fuel tank cars, each with a capacity of 16 kiloliters (kl).

“In order to meet the needs of the community, according to Pertamina Patra Niaga's report, 17 fuel tank cars have been added. For the Pasaman region whose roads were briefly cut off due to landslides, Pertamina Patra Niaga has managed to deliver fuel for eight kiloliters on Monday (1/12) and 16 kiloliters on Tuesday (2/12),” he said.
