REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto asked the military to prepare for the times. Prabowo wants the military to be able to adapt so as not to go out of style.
This was stated by Prabowo in his speech at the 80th TNI Anniversary event in Monas on Sunday (5/10/2025). Prabowo revealed the various possibilities that the military should anticipate.
“Brothers and sisters, in addition to being prepared for all eventualities, means that the military must prepare itself, continue to build itself, train itself, galvanize itself, delve into all the necessary knowledge. Following the development of the times, following the development of technology, the military should not be left behind, the military should not be caught off guard,” Prabowo said on the occasion.
Prabowo insists the military is the biological son of the Indonesian people. Prabowo reminded that the military comes from the people and will arise and sink with the Indonesian people.
“The TNI has always served the nation and the people and the TNI is ready to sacrifice its soul and spirit for the nation and people of Indonesia. Brothers and sisters, especially the soldiers of the military I am proud of. Amid the uncertainty of the current global environment, the military is a stronghold of NKRI. The military is the backbone of Indonesia's defense that is the guarantor of our sovereignty,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo also appreciated all the struggles that the military is doing. Prabowo calls on military to continue to be ready to protect all Indonesians.
“The military must be ready to sacrifice everything for the safety of the Indonesian nation and people. Brothers and sisters, on behalf of the nation state and the Indonesian government, I express my appreciation and thanks for the achievements of the military to date. The military always performs at a critical moment. The military will not hesitate to put the interests of the nation and the state and the people above all other interests,” Prabowo said.
