GOAL! Liverpool 4-1 West Ham (Cody Gakpo, 71)

Any hope that West Ham might’ve had of getting back into the match has been shattered by Cody Gakpo. The winger restores Liverpool’s three-goal lead at Anfield by receiving the ball on the left, cutting inside and curling his effort into the net.

Newcastle 1-2 Everton: Huge chance for Everton to get a third. Beto manages to keep the ball in play before charging towards goal and going one-on-one with Pope… but he blasts his shot onto the crossbar!

“Those Scottish results make for depressing reading if you’re a Dundee United fan, the only positives being that both Livingston and Kilmarnock are also losing meaning that, for now at least, the Tangerines haven’t been dragged closer towards the relegation places. The top six now looks guaranteed, with United likely to be fighting it out for best of the rest with Aberdeen, St. Mirren, and Dundee. Livingston look doomed, and Kilmarnock have a battle on their hands to avoid being in the relegation play off place. Hearts, Rangers and Celtic, possibly Motherwell are in the title race, with Hibs and Falkirk eyeing European places. Should make for an exciting end to the season...”

I’d like to take a quick moment to apologise… I said earlier that it was game over at Turf Moor. It most certainly isn’t!

Brentford squander their three-goal lead as Flemming levels the score for Burnley! What a comeback!

There were boos ringing around the stadium from the home fans at half-time, now the atmosphere is incredible!

Team news is out for Leeds United v Manchester City in the Premier League and the big news is that Erling Haaland is NOT in the squad.

Football’s lawmaking authority, the Ifab, is to conduct a two-year review of the video assistant referee to ensure the technology is being used “to its best”. The announcement on Saturday came alongside a flurry of enhancements to the rulebook before the World Cup, including expanding the use of VAR into determining corner kicks.

Former NFL star JJ Watt is at Turf Moor this afternoon to watch Burnley take on Brentford. Watt is a minority investor at Burnley.

In case you missed it, Sheffield Wednesday were relegated to League One last weekend. The Owls were sent down by their biggest rivals, Sheffield United, following a 2-1 loss at Bramall Lane. They suffered another defeat on Wednesday against Norwich City, leaving them on minus seven points. Henrik Pedersen and Co will be determined to get some more points on the board as we enter the final part of the season, with the aim of not becoming the first team in Championship history to end a campaign on a negative total of points.

Sheffield Wednesday host Southampton this afternoon.
