GOAL! Liverpool 4-1 West Ham (Cody Gakpo, 71)
Any hope that West Ham might’ve had of getting back into the match has been shattered by Cody Gakpo. The winger restores Liverpool’s three-goal lead at Anfield by receiving the ball on the left, cutting inside and curling his effort into the net.
Newcastle 1-2 Everton: Huge chance for Everton to get a third. Beto manages to keep the ball in play before charging towards goal and going one-on-one with Pope… but he blasts his shot onto the crossbar!
Simon McMahon has messaged in to say:
“Those Scottish results make for depressing reading if you’re a Dundee United fan, the only positives being that both Livingston and Kilmarnock are also losing meaning that, for now at least, the Tangerines haven’t been dragged closer towards the relegation places. The top six now looks guaranteed, with United likely to be fighting it out for best of the rest with Aberdeen, St. Mirren, and Dundee. Livingston look doomed, and Kilmarnock have a battle on their hands to avoid being in the relegation play off place. Hearts, Rangers and Celtic, possibly Motherwell are in the title race, with Hibs and Falkirk eyeing European places. Should make for an exciting end to the season...”
GOAL! Burnley 3-3 Brentford (Zian Flemming, 50)
I’d like to take a quick moment to apologise… I said earlier that it was game over at Turf Moor. It most certainly isn’t!
Brentford squander their three-goal lead as Flemming levels the score for Burnley! What a comeback!
There were boos ringing around the stadium from the home fans at half-time, now the atmosphere is incredible!

Elsewhere, Cian Ashford makes it three for Cardiff at Doncaster.
GOAL! Liverpool 3-1 West Ham (Tomáš Souček, 49)
El Hadji Malick Diouf sends the ball into the box and Ibrahima Konate fails to deal with it. Souček is able to take advantage by firing the ball into the net.
Game on!

GOAL! Burnley 2-3 Brentford (Jaidon Anthony, 47)
It looked as though Burnley were down and out in the first half, but Anthony keeps their hopes of getting something from this game alive at the very start of the second!

League One: Dylan Lawlor doubles Cardiff’s advantage against Doncaster with a brilliant effort after starting the attack with a run from his own half.

Football’s lawmaking authority, the Ifab, is to conduct a two-year review of the video assistant referee to ensure the technology is being used “to its best”. The announcement on Saturday came alongside a flurry of enhancements to the rulebook before the World Cup, including expanding the use of VAR into determining corner kicks.

Half-time
It’s half-time across the grounds. Let’s take a look at some scores…
GOAL! Burnley 1-3 Brentford (Michael Kayode OG, 45+3)
That might give the Turf Moor crowd something to smile about before the break. Burnley get one back following an own goal from Kayode.
Championship: Ryan Manning makes it two for Southampton against Sheffield Wednesday just before half-time at Hillsborough.
GOAL! Liverpool 3-0 West Ham (Alexis Mac Allister, 43)
It’s another goal… from another set piece! This time, Mac Allister nets it with a brilliant volley following a corner.
West Ham might’ve fancied their chances of getting back into the match, having created some good opportunities after the second goal. However, it’s a long way back now.

Championship: Iván Azón doubles Ipswich’s lead over Swansea with a curled strike into the far corner.
GOAL! Burnley 0-3 Brentford (Kevin Schade, 34)
Schade makes it three for Brentford and that should be all three points wrapped up for the visitors at Turf Moor.

GOAL! Newcastle 1-2 Everton (Beto, 34)
Well, that didn’t last long! Everton regain the lead as Beto capitalises on an error from Nick Pope to fire the Toffees back in front.

Championship: Ryan Leonard fires Millwall into the lead against Preston. Elsewhere, Oliver Rathbone has put Wrexham 1-0 up at Charlton and Tyrese Campbell has doubled Sheffield United’s advantage over QPR.
GOAL! Newcastle 1-1 Everton (Jacob Ramsey, 32)
A strike from Ramsey takes a huge deflection past a helpless Pickford before flying into the net! Newcastle are level!

Scottish Premiership: Hearts lead Aberdeen thanks to a strike from Claudio Braga. They need a win here to keep their lead at the top of the table.
Liverpool 2-0 West Ham: That Van Dijk goal was a sucker punch for West Ham, who had been growing in confidence following the opener in the first five minutes.
GOAL! Burnley 0-2 Brentford (Igor Thiago, 25)
Thiago makes it two for the visitors after receiving a pass from Damsgaard and slotting the ball past Dúbravka!
That’s his 18th goal of the season.

GOAL! Liverpool 2-0 West Ham (Virgil van Dijk, 24)
Van Dijk makes it two for the reigning Premier League champions with a header from a corner!
There is a brief VAR check for a potential offside, but the goal stands.

GOAL! Newcastle 0-1 Everton (Jarrad Branthwaite, 19)
Branthwaite breaks the deadlock at St. James’ Park with the first effort on target of the match! A huge goal for Everton!

Championship: Sheffield Wednesday find themselves behind at Hillsborough following a goal from Southampton right-back James Bree.
Championship: Sheffield United lead at Loftus Road following a 13th-minute goal from Callum O’Hare. Elsewhere, Stanley Mills gives Oxford United the advantage against West Brom.
Championship: Coventry lead Stoke at home thanks to Haji Wright, who nets his 15th league goal of the season.
GOAL! Burnley 0-1 Brentford (Mikkel Damsgaard, 9)
Damsgaard heads the ball past Dúbravka and into the net to give Brentford the lead at Turf Moor. The midfielder was given plenty of space in the centre of the box to get his attempt away.

League One: Mansfield lead Wimbledon thanks to a strike from Jon Russell, while Joe Rafferty has put Rotherham 1-0 up against Plymouth.
GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 West Ham (Hugo Ekitike, 5)
That didn’t take long! Ekitike strikes to give Liverpool the lead over West Ham in the opening five minutes at Anfield.
The forward receives a pass from Gravenberch in the box, takes a touch and beats Hermansen at the near post.

Championship: Anis Mehmeti fires Ipswich into an early lead against Swansea at Portman Road.
Scottish Premiership: It’s far from an ideal start for Kilmarnock as Ethan Brown puts the ball into his own net within the opening minute. Falkirk lead.
Kick-off
We’re under way across the grounds!
John Brewin was at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon as the points were shared between Bournemouth and Sunderland.
Former NFL star JJ Watt is at Turf Moor this afternoon to watch Burnley take on Brentford. Watt is a minority investor at Burnley.
In case you missed it, Sheffield Wednesday were relegated to League One last weekend. The Owls were sent down by their biggest rivals, Sheffield United, following a 2-1 loss at Bramall Lane. They suffered another defeat on Wednesday against Norwich City, leaving them on minus seven points. Henrik Pedersen and Co will be determined to get some more points on the board as we enter the final part of the season, with the aim of not becoming the first team in Championship history to end a campaign on a negative total of points.
Sheffield Wednesday host Southampton this afternoon.

Barney Ronay
“Hearts finished 40 points behind Celtic last year. The great clanking hand of Tony Bloom and his big data hive-brain robots has been on site for only eight months. The word “disruption” is usually shorthand for tech bro types in $4,000 Japanese trainers working out new ways to fire people. This is actual, good disruption. A three-way title race isn’t just deeply un-Scotland, it’s deeply un-anywhere these days…”
