The phenomenon could be seen in Birmingham city centre
Skies across the West Midlands turned a dazzling shade of pink on Thursday evening as heavy snow fell during Storm Goretti.
Images were shared showing the phenomenon in Birmingham city centre and also Hednesford, in Staffordshire.
There was speculation on social media it could have been the Northern Lights, with others suggesting it was a reflection from UV lights at Birmingham City Football Club's stadium.
We will endeavour to get an answer.

BBC weather presenter Simon King said cloud cover and falling snow meant the sky could be more reflective.
"So at night it's quite common to have that whitish glow when it's snowing and you've got street lights," he said.
"In this case, the mystery is the source of the light."
He added it could be similar to the case of two friends mistaking Premier Inn lights for the Northern Lights.
