REPUBLICA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The government is targeting Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to break into the top 10 airports in the world by 2029. Currently, Indonesia's largest airport is ranked 22nd in the world.
InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad R Pahlevi said the transformation of Soekarno-Hatta Airport continues to be accelerated through collaboration with all stakeholders, including InJourney Holding and Danantara Indonesia.
“Airport transformation has been carried out inYesterday Airports since 2024 based on three pillars, namely premises, people, and process, with technology as a supporting function,” Pahlevi said in a written statement in Jakarta, Sunday (12/7/2026).
Pillar premises focuses on the construction of service-oriented airport infrastructure. Meanwhile, people are directed to deliver world-class staff services and process to strengthen ecosystem-based airport operations.
Pahlevi said a number of transformation programs had been realized. One of them is the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F, which was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto in 2025.
In the same year, InJourney Airports also reopened Terminal 1C after the revitalization process was completed. The renovation program of Terminal 3 also led to the terminal earning a four-star rating from Skytrax.
In 2026, the transformation continued through the revitalization of Terminal 1A. The program is aimed at improving the quality of service, equipping facilities, and raising terminal capacity from 5.7 million to 10 million passengers per year.
