REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto praised the swift move of Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI), which is tasked with overseeing the export of strategic goods. Since it was announced that it was formed on May 20, 2026 and fully operational from July 1, 2026, PT DSI proved to be able to increase the national foreign exchange reserves.
According to him, DSI became an instrument of the state in strengthening governance and consolidating the export of strategic commodities belonging to the Indonesian nation. Prabowo said that the government is committed to strengthening the national economy through natural resource governance reforms, accelerating strategic investments, and strengthening the management of foreign exchange proceeds from exports.
“We are building a one-stop export system so that the country knows how much is exported, to whom it is sold, what is the real price, how much foreign exchange should return to Indonesia. That's the goal,” Prabowo said while giving a speech at the Plenary Cabinet Session (SKP) at Istana Negara, Central Jakarta, on Monday (20/7/2026).
Prabowo states that it is proved that the initial implementation of the policy has shown positive results. In just over a month since its operation, DSI has managed a significant amount of foreign exchange amounting to 10.5 US billion dollars or about Rp 188 trillion. This simultaneously began to reduce the price gap of Indonesian commodity exports with prices on the international market.
“Just one month, two weeks of work, DSI is operating, DSI has managed more than 10.5 billion dollars in foreign exchange. And it turns out that from the figures that came in, before there was DSI, the gap between the price sold in Indonesia and the international sale price, it was more or less a difference of at least 30 percent, close to 40-45 percent,” Prabowo explained.
According to Prabowo, the government decided to establish a one-door export system as a step to improve strategic commodity export governance. Through this policy, he added, the government can ensure the entire export process takes place transparently while optimizing the country's foreign exchange acceptance of Indonesia's natural wealth.
“I remind you, all commodities belong to the Indonesian nation. The earth, water, and all the wealth contained therein, belongs to the Indonesian nation. Nickel, rubber, everything, palm oil, coal, gold. So, we implemented one-stop export, and we established DSI,” Prabowo said.
In addition, Prabowo stressed that the government will not tolerate practices that harm the state or business operators who do not comply with the provisions of the law. The government, he said, would take decisive steps to ensure natural resource governance proceeds in the national interest.
“Because we are resolute, continue this practice, this is a fraudulent practice, go ahead, all of our permissions revoke. I am not indiscriminate, we revoke all the permits of those who do not want to obey the law in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” Prabowo said.
He also said that the reform measures taken by the government began to gain recognition from the international world. With ever stronger food security, energy sector support, and abundant natural resource potential, Prabowo is optimistic that Indonesia is capable of realizing its ideal as the world's food granary.
“Brothers, we have begun to be looked at and we will prove it. I believe and believe we will be the food granary of the world. I believe that,” Prabowo said.
