Manchester United will target Crysencio Summerville should Marcus Rashford leave this summer, with the West Ham winger’s potential fee around £30m. Summerville is viewed as having the right profile in regards to a left-sided forward to replace the England international.
After West Ham’s relegation to the Championship, they are open to selling the 24-year-old providing they receive a suitable offer. The Dutchman, who was part of the Netherlands’ World Cup campaign, has three years left on his contract.
Rashford’s future remains in the balance due to a breakdown in his relationship with United that led to the England international joining Aston Villa on loan for six months from January 2025 and then Barcelona for all of last season. There is now an uneasy truce between Rashford and the club that means he is expected to start the season at Old Trafford.
But with Rashford having two years remaining on his £17.5m-a-year contract, United’s preference remains to offload the 28-year-old via a sale or a loan. The difficulty is finding a club that has the finance to afford the player.
After signing Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans this week for a combined initial £82m, United remain intent on adding a third midfielder. Michael Carrick is an admirer of Roma’s Manu Koné, Bournemouth’s Alex Scott and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga but each player’s asking price of £60m-£80m means a move for any of them is viewed as unlikely.
