British woman stabbed to death in Cambodia, police say

A 34-year-old British woman was stabbed to death in Cambodia in what police describe as a "love triangle" killing.

Jessica Cariad Hopkins was found with stab wounds in a park in the Chamkar Mon district of Cambodian capital Phnom Penh on Friday, the general commissariat of Cambodia's national police said in a statement.

A 33-year-old woman, named by police as Congolese national Kidikila Nganda Glodie, was arrested by the authorities at a nearby salon in connection with the death.

The UK Foreign Office said: "We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in Cambodia and are in contact with the local authorities."

Local media say police spent around 17 hours investigating before making the arrest.

Hopkins was reportedly renting a house in the city.
