Police have been carrying out investigations at the scene of Monday's shooting
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder after a 16-year-old boy was left "fighting for his life" following a shooting in Sheffield.
South Yorkshire Police said the 16-year-old had been found injured in London Road at about 17:15 GMT on Monday and taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
In a statement, the force said the 15-year old was being held in police custody.
Supt Martin Simcock said: "Gun crime, and violent crime has no place in South Yorkshire, and the fact that a young boy is fighting for his life is appalling and will not be tolerated."
He added: "Detectives, officers and forensics have been in the area today to secure evidence, but we need your help.
"I urge you to get in touch, no matter how small you believe your information to be, it could be the missing piece that we need.
"This boy and his family deserve answers, and we are committed to getting them."
